Ironman/Fundraising

February Update:
For the month of January, I had a very special type of fundraising event to raise money to fight blood cancer for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by training for the Kentucky Ironman in Aug 2011. All January donators got a very coveted prize, a feature in my rap song. You know one of my greatest regrets is not dropping out of business school to become a professional rapper. But at least you guys let me have a taste of what it would have been like.
There were 26 donators in January, adding a thousand dollars and bringing the grand total to $3,300.01, 43% of my fundraising goal of $7650. Really the only way to properly show my gratitude is to make a foo’ of myself publicly set to a dope beat. I hope you enjoy this rap video. My goal for February is to get to $4000, so I put a challenge out to those of you who haven’t donated but are thinking about it. While watching the video if you catch yourself smiling, laughing, or feeling incredibly embarrassed for me, consider throwing a few dollars into the fundraising pool by donating here:

The video was inspired by my idol, MC Hammer and his hit song, You Can’t Touch This. Since MC Hammer wasn’t available to do this rap, “IM Adoree” had to take over. I had a blast writing the rap, laying down the track, and shooting the video. And, I hope it brings a smile to your face :)
Hello!
Well, I am training for an Ironman to raise money to fight cancer. What exactly is an Ironman? Well, let’s count it: 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking, and then finish with the marathon distance of 26.2 miles of running. That is right. It is so much I need a calculator to get the grand total of 140.6 miles of pure torment. Oh plus, I am scared of swimming. I suck at biking. And, I’m not a fast runner. So why am I doing it?
I am training for an Ironman because as much hell it is to train and then complete a full Ironman that is nothing to what it is like living with and battling cancer. Through the Team in Training program, I will be running not just for myself, but in order to raise money to help cure lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the lives of patients and their families. Specifically, I am training in honor of my family members’ personal battles with blood cancer.
I have committed to raising $7650 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. To be honest, I don’t know which number is more intimidating, doing 140.6 miles or raising $7650.
I was hoping that you can help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation by March 31, 2011.
You can donate easily and quickly by going online here:

Thank you 140.6 times !!!!!
Adoree :)
