Adoree Durayappah, MAPP, MBA
Adoree Durayappah is a writer, psychologist, entrepreneur, and addicted to academia.
Adoree Durayappah is currently obtaining a Master at Harvard University studying Comparative Ethics. She is interested in studying “The Good Life” through different religious traditions as well as different disciplines including religion, philosophy, positive psychology, and evolutionary psychology.
She is also the Co-Founder of Employ Insight, a technology start-up focused on improving employee engagement through the latest psychological research on workplace well-being. Prior to Employ Insight, Adoree worked in psychology research at the social psychology laboratory of Dr. Daniel Gilbert at Harvard University.

Her research on happiness, The 3P Model: A General Theory of Subjective Well-Being, has been published in the Journal of Happiness Studies. Adoree is also a new media specialist.
She has spent her career in media as a Television Producer; Interactive Producer; President of an Internet Startup; and Director of Business Development at Animax Entertainment.

Adoree received her MBA from Pepperdine University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University with a dual degree in Philosophy and Television. She co-founded StartupLA, a conference devoted to building the entrepreneurial community of Los Angeles and is a member of the New Media Council of the Producers Guild of America and the American Psychological Association.


Adoree’s passion for business and psychology led her to obtain a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Currently, Adoree writes a weekly blog, Thriving101, for Psychology Today’s online publication and blogs frequently for Huffington Post.
She also speaks and interviews on the subject of Well-Being and Positive Psychology. She has been featured in international articles such as Colombia’s weekly publication, Semana and has been interviewed for Cosmopolitan Magazine.

She is currently working on her upcoming book, The Gift of Rejection—based on understanding rejection and break-ups scientifically to help us recover and grow from the experience.
